How is private duty nursing different from home health aide care?
Scope of practice. A home health aide provides personal care, bathing, dressing, mobility, meals, and cannot perform clinical tasks. A private duty nurse is a licensed nurse who can administer medications, manage wounds and medical equipment, and exercise clinical judgment as a condition evolves.
Many Buchanan families use both, an aide for daily living support and a nurse for the clinical layer. Because both live under one Axzons care plan, the two roles coordinate instead of colliding.
